Some Key Concepts

Customer Discovery is a systematic process of engaging with potential customers to understand their needs, problems, and preferences. It is a crucial step in the early stages of developing a product or business to ensure that what is being created aligns with actual market demand a ultimately reduce the risk of building something that customers won't find valuable.


The aim here is to validate or refine entrepreneur's key assumptions about who their potential customers are and their problems, existing ways to solve these problems and entrepreneur's ideas of how to solve. The methods of customer discovery vary but more often than not, they include interviews, surveys and observations.




Our Approach


1. Pre-customer Discovery


  • Before directly engaging with potential customers, we conduct preliminary research to understand the market landscape, identify potential pain points, and help you formulate hypothesis of the solutions.


  • What do in this phase is to also help you with the secondary research, studying competitors, analyzing market trends, and developing initial hypotheses about customer problems and potential solutions.


  • Together we gather enough insights and form educated guesses/hypotheses that will guide the next phase – customer discovery.



2. Customer Discovery


  • We help you recruit and directly engage with potential or existing customers to validate or refute the hypotheses formed during the pre-customer discovery phase.


  • We conduct interviews, surveys, observations, and other forms of primary research with potential customers. Listen to their problems, needs, and feedback about potential solutions.


  • We help you validate whether there's a real need for the proposed solution,  we will refine your product ideas based on real feedback, and move towards building a minimal viable product (MVP) if validation is positive.
